littlemunki

I was filling in time the other day at K-Mart when I came across this train set.....

I had seen it before and even though it is'nt any where near the price of the Thomas sets, I had still thought 'no'. I figured the littlemunki was still a bit too young. Anyway, the RRP was $49.95 (not overly spendy) but the box was in a terrible state (who cares about the box it will go in the trash anyway) There was no price on it so I took it to the layby counter. 'Is it reduced?' I asked, "yes" said the lady "it will come down to $32.00", 'mmmm I thought', then she said it would be a further 50% of that price. Well, I was sold, $16 for a 250 piece wooden train set! Granted it is not as cute as the the japanese one I posted about, and the packaging is in the trash - but hey! - $16, bargain! and the train is even motorized!

I was feeling a bit inspired on the weekend and decided to try one of my other animal ideas. My wonderful husband even made the trek to Spotlight for me to buy  some velvet ribbon so I could finish it off - what a guy!

The littlemunki is obsessed with velvet ribbon, it  is the only ribbon he likes on his blanky, so I thought a lion would be the perfect way to incorporate said ribbon - but now I don't wont the lion to get manky and sucked on! I had originally named him Clive but my Mum thinks it is a girl lion - any suggestions?

I have been tagged! by Pyglet - 5 wierd habits......this I have to think about, I'm sure I have heaps and if I asked my husband he could probably rattle off a dozen...so here goes

1. I cannot stand warm milk, so on my breakfast cereal of a morning I have to add ice-cubes, even though the milk has just come out of the fridge.

2. I like my eyeshadows to be all face-up in my makeup bag, and have to do so everytime I go in there.

3. In winter time I will not go to bed without socks on, even though the whole house is toasty warm.

4. I like to hang all the sock and undies on the one length of clothes line, the shirts on another, etc.

5. (my husband finds this one most irritating) when we are watching TV my foot rotates round and round,  ever so slightly and only ever one at a time, he can see it out the corner of his eye and it drives him nuts - hee hee!

Now  you all think I'm nuts! I'm not sure who has been tagged or not so I will leave it up to you..........

I could'nt believe my luck! I had been looking on Ebay but to no avail, and then just happened to be flicking through the pages of the 'Weekend Shopper' and there it was. I then had to beg and plead with my husband and justify to him that it was in fact a fantastic buy and I would be saving heaps! He finally relented and I phoned the seller on sunday (fingers crossed that she hadn't already sold it), I then had to wait till tuesday afternoon to finally get to see it. I drove over there, dumping  dropping the littlemunki at a girlfriends house, and there it was, everything I needed to go home and make a big mess and re-claim the dining table as a craft table! I have tried to source more screens today but unfortunately everyone is out of stock.

Without further ado here is my first ever gocco print.....

So much fun! There won't be much sewing going on for awhile. Note to self - I must stop finding out about all this cool stuff, it is not good for the bank balance!
