I just don't get it?????????
Why is it that sometimes there just aren't enough hours in the day, and other days, just too many!
July MOS

Here is my submission for July's MOS - Sock monkey. It's P.J and his girlfriend Fran. He's taking her out for afternoon tea and maybe a walk in the park.
side tracked!
I should be making my sock monkey for Loobylu's MOS, but I kinda got side tracked and started to make this little blue doll instead. The littlemunki is fascinated with velvet ribbon. He has a blanket that has all different types of ribbon sewn around the edges and he always finds the velvet ones and sucks on them (kinda gross really!) So I decided to make him a 'thing' with velvet ribbon hair and I may have just started something....my little mind is racing with variations....

Hot off the press!

Ta-da! I love this printmaking process! It has been soooo much fun. Here is an example of what I have been printing, with more to come. This was one of the photos I took while we were in Louisville, Kentucky. I have also made up negatives of castles and a georgian house from Dublin. Next on the list will be an image of the littlemunki. (I need to buy more frames.....)
Something old, something blue....
I'm finally doing something that I've been wanting to do for years! (about 8) I'm making cyanotype prints! We learnt all about these techniques whilst I was at Uni, but I never got around to actually putting it into practice. So at the beginning of the week I rang all around town looking for the chemicals, I had to order them from a different State! They arrived yesterday, and tonight I mixed up all the scary sounding powders and coated my paper. Tomorrow, if the weather permits, I will be doing my first print of the 'littlemunki' logo. I'm really quite excited, and my mind is racing as to what other things I can create using this technique. It was fun mixing up chemicals again, I felt like I was getting my hands dirty instead of sitting on the computer manipulating my images. You can also paint the liquid onto fabric, so that has opened up a whole new world of possibilities....watch this space...and wish me luck!
( If anyone else has experimented with this technique I'd love to see some of your images..)
