I'm alive! only just! I've been sick, and can I tell you that I have never been that sick before and don't want to be that sick ever again - it was terrible. I had an awful stomache bug and even begged for a needle to make the vomiting stop ( I am terrified of needles, so for me to beg, things were bad!) After 5 days I finally came good and headed back to work. I've only been there 3 weeks and had to take a week off - oh well, what can you do!? I was worried I wouldn't be well for my friends baby shower, but I was and we went for High tea at this great place near me called 'High Societea', it is beautiful. The decor is stunning and the food is scrummy. It was a lovely afternoon and I wish I could afford to do it more often, at $30 a head for afternoon tea it's definately for special occasions. The guest of honour loved all her gifts and convinced me she loved the cushion I made her.

Another busy weekend is coming up, we have a trip to Dreamworld for my hubby's christmas party and a 3 year olds birthday party. The little munki will be exhausted! as will mummy and daddy! Next week I want to finish off the christmas shopping. I'm starting to get nervous, I like to have everything wrapped under the tree well in advance, I can't believe its only 4 weeks away - eekk!

I have tried to make a little rabbit from my palm-sized softie book, but I just can't seem to get it right. I have tried twice and each time was a disaster. The first one was just all wrong, and the second looked like he had been at the gym way too much and had been eating carrots laced with steroids! I think the pattern is a little too small ( for me), and I have'nt had a chance to get to a photocopy machine to enlarge the pattern. I was just busting to use some of my japanese fabric, so I have to get the next one right, and when I do, you can all see! I have also been working on a gift for a friend of mine that is having a baby early next year. Silly me organized the baby shower for next weekend, so that has put the pressure on to get it finished in time! It's an applique thingy. I'm not sure whether I should frame it, or stretch it over a frame.....any suggestions? Hopefully I will get it finished this weekend so you can all see.

I did kinda make a softies for the October month of softies but did'nt get it finished in time. Let me introduce Mitch the Monster

I wanted to make him a sheet with the eye holes cut out so he could trick or treat disguised as a ghost. He is completely hand sewn - what was I thinking! Too lazy to get the sewing machine out!

What a week! It's official, I'm now part of the work force again after 18 months of maternity leave. I started back at work on monday and gee, did I feel like a fish out of water! Everything felt so foreign, I had almost completely forgotten how to dress a table, at least one with pizazz. On wednesday I was feeling a little less useless (thank goodness!) and was quite proud of myself when I came up with a solution for a minor floor move (so you're not wondering, I am a visual merchandiser with a department store - I make crap look pretty) I'm kinda looking forward to being left to my own devices, but am probably not ready for that for at least another week! So I have the remainder of the week to catch up with my emails and my blogs (updating mine and catching up with all the others that I read) grocery shop (which I just did) washing, housework and try and do some sewing! My friends that went to Japan a month ago received one of their parcels that they sent back by boat - I was soooo excited! They called around sunday night to give my pile of goodies - and WOW, was I one happy little crafter! They out did themselves! I was the lucky receipent of 3 craft books to add to my collection (now I have 6! I wish I could afford to expand on it more often) and some beautiful fabric and to top it all off they told me there was no need to hand over any money, it was a gift! How lovely was that! So let the crafting begin!
